100-Word Stories: Mystery Hero

It happened in a flash. The mystery…thing. I had seen many ants perish because of it. Never did this ant think it would be against our enemy. The monster.
He terrorized us. While we worked for food. Ants are never lazy. Always working. Sometimes drunk. But always working. Monster fed on us. Not today.

He rummaged in the tall grass. A large, spherical object flew by. Then the shadow. Mystery hero. Dropped on the monster. Left its imprint. And in a glide, gone. With high-pitched laughter. Playful. I wondered who the mystery hero was. Hoping I’d see it again.
